Hi everyone! It’s been awhile since new content was posted here on Lovely Dusk. My life has been swept up into a spiral of change and my priorities had to shift for a bit.
If you’ve been keeping up with my Instagram stories, you know that my apartment flooded three times in the past month. Twice from flooding due to rain and once from a broken water heater. My roommate and I have had a whale of a time dealing with the damages while starting our new jobs.
A few days ago, we received a call from our leasing company saying that we could move to a new apartment the next day. In 24 hours, we signed for a new apartment, packed up our bags and moved to a brand new space in town.
We couldn’t have done any of this without our friends and family.
The outpouring of love and support from family and friends, both old and new, was absolutely astounding. People traveled across the state to come and help us move. We were blessed.
The takeaway from this experience? It’s easy to see the negative news going on globally and not believe in hope. It’s easy to judge your neighbor based on a social media post. It’s easy to see the world as a bland place, but then something like this happens. When people bond together to simply help one another. Where unity and friendship collide to make a beautiful masterpiece.
So hold on to those friends who would help you move. Hold on to family members who drop everything to come to your rescue. Hold on to hope, because God is always watching over you.
That is the power of family and friendship.
